In 2017 as in 2016, xFIVE has the privilege of boosting the challenges of the Hacking Industry Camp in Strasbourg

With its partners, Alsace Digitale is organizing its third Hacking Industry Camp on the weekend of October 13-15, 2017 on the theme "Inventing the energy of tomorrow! ". Their ambition: to participate in the fourth industrial revolution (industry 4.0) developed by the human being for the human being.  The human being, that is the new energy of tomorrow!

And so to feed the hackathon, one needs challenges that are sufficiently motivating to engage people' energies! In order to prepare the challenges to be built and to present their challenges on their best, Alsace Digitale and Rhénatic have tasked xFIVE with animating workshops in order to help the challengers to build and enrich their challenges, seduce and gather an enthusiastic team around their idea

MXP, an innovative recycling tool (made in xFIVE)

Speed of execution and inventiveness of design can go hand in hand!

In a month between the first discussions with the customer and the commissioning in January 2017, xFIVE carried out the MXP project at full speed until its completion. The purpose of this special machine is to remove at a very high rate certain parts of bottle racks (made of a polymer different from the rest), so that these racks can then be recycled in one operation.

This is the result of the application of the 2A2CI methodology, from the definition of the concept to the test in real conditions.

The MXP tightly mixes hydraulics, control electronics and very robust mechanical tools. Behind the simple and elegant concept hides an inventive approach to solve several contradictions. A patent application is pending.

The MXP, a machine designed, developed, built and commissioned by xFIVE.

Double stroke for Yves Guillou, partner of xFIVE

Two very recent achievements of Yves Guillou, a member of the xFIVE team, deserve to be underlined!

A book on agile projectmanagement

logo elephantYves has just written with two other authors a very interesting book on project management.  It is altogether pragmatic and full of useful tools to make project management both dynamic and better controlled.

xFIVE "Maker" during the 2016 Creativity Week

Creativity Week, 2016 : xFIVE was present at Tournai and Charleroi

In the context of the 2016 Creativity Week, Creative Wallonia Engine and the 7 Creative Hubs of Wallonia have put in the spotlight the creative talents of our region under the generic theme "Make Wallonia".  Different inventive, creative, enthusiastic people came from everywhere to illustrate how Wallonia's tomorrow is created, how it all begins, it is organized, it develops products and services of tomorrow .xFIVE makers 2016 Arrondie.JPG

In this context, and thanks to Elodie Wannez and Sandy Menegazzi WAP's Hub of Tournai (in which xFIVE is a partner), we were proud to present two examples of realizations that demonstrate possible orientations in the context of "energy for tomorrow" :

  • EnergX, biogas unit designed to fit the requirement of mid-sized farms.
  • RELIOS, a thermal solar panel 100% made of recycled materials.

The NanoEnergX demonstrator was developed with the support of students of the French Community Technical Institute Renée Joffroy, located in Ath. NanoEnergX allowed students to be involved in an industrial project directly linked to environmental and energy issues. They were making a really useful tool in a business context while learning their job with the support of competent and motivated teachers, because it is in practice that one learns to make perfect. Congratulations to them!

RELIOS was designed by Caroline Lepot for his final work for graduating as civil engineer in chemistry and materials in 2015. This solar panel is not only creative, but also environmentally friendly and highly efficient: its thermal performance is 60 to 80 % of those of a commercial thermal sensor. Only costing 120€ for 4m², it produces 43% of the hot water needs of a Belgian family of 4 with installed 4m². This project was awarded the prize of universality awarded by AILouvain in 2015, and has been nominated for the Belgian Prize for the Environment and Energy EEAWARD 2016
